DMSC's "An Ecology of Innovation," focuses national attention on cutting edge, highly original, and successful uses of technology for scholarly and service activities.  DMSC encourages entrepreneurial partnering of students with corporations.  Consortium members are interested in effective approaches to challenging IT endeavors.  Both academic institutions and corporations involved in such activities are encouraged to submit abstracts for consideration for presentation at the conference.  Stipends will be awarded for the best presentations by graduate students.

The corporate founding partners were Apple and FedEx Institute.  DMSC membership now extends into Georgia, Virginia, North Carolina, and beyond.
